Women call out city councilors to try out bus system

Albuquerque City Council

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – On Wednesday night, a group of homeless women called on Albuquerque City Councilors to park their cars and ride buses for a week.

The Women’s Circle of Empowerment is advocating for more efficient bus routes and better schedules.

Members say if councilors use the city bus system, they’ll see it’s hard to get around town.

Councilors Ken Sanchez and Klarissa Pena say they will ride the bus to find out what the women face.

The group asked to meet again with council in a month, to continue the conversation.
