ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – The 10-7 overall Lobo Volleyball team has been on a tough stretch here as of late. They didn’t start out conference like they had thought they would have lost 3 of their opening 4 matches.
Injuries have been the thorn in UNM’s side down major players Warren and House.
The Lobos have been competing in their last 3 losses, but could not get over the hump. The Lobos are now at home though, and feel that this is the time to get back on track.
“These will be big matches for us at home. I am hoping we can get as many kids healthy as we can and really make a run at it,” said UNM Volleyball Coach Jeff Nelson.
They will hopefully get back both Warren and House on Thursday as they host Colorado State, and now is the time for these Lobos to start clicking as they have CSU on Thursday, Wyoming on Saturday, and UNLV on Tuesday all at the Johnson Center.
“This is a really tough stretch of 5 matches for us, but I think we can play some good ball and hopefully find ourselves this next week and a half,” said Coach Nelson.
The Lobos and Rams tip off from Johnson Center on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. It is also “Jam Johnson Night” on Thursday with tickets running at just $2.
