Local coffee shop transforms into famous TV show diner

Luke's Diner

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – An Albuquerque coffee shop is giving “Gilmore Girls” fans a free cup of joe with a dose of nostalgia.

“Epiphany Espresso” transformed into “Luke’s Diner” from the series ahead of the show’s four-episode revival.

Netflix sponsored the one-day conversion of about 200 cafes across the U.S. and Canada into the show’s most recognizable dining spot. Employees and baristas were decked out in branded hats and aprons.

Fans say the long wait was worth it.

“We’re such big fans, me and my mom are, but I didn’t realize how many ‘Gilmore Girls’ fans there actually are, so it says a lot about the show,” said Capree Hartley.

The event also coincides with the 16th anniversary of the series’ original pilot air date.
