America’s Challenge race postponed 24 hours

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A different group of pilots is gearing up to compete in “America’s Challenge Gas Balloon Race.”

This year, six teams are taking part from the U.S., Poland and France. Whoever flies the farthest, wins, and they typically fly for about three days.

These balloons are different than the ones you see every morning at Balloon Fiesta. The gas balloons use helium or hydrogen.

The race was set to launch Wednesday, but it has been postponed until Thursday evening due to weather issues in the Midwest.
