ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE)- John “The Magician” Dodson lost to John Lineker by split decision in the main event of UFC Fight Night 96.

“Like we can tell by my face, his body, and everything else that looks damaging. I mean do I even look like I was even in a fight”, said Dodson after the fight.

Dodson landed more significant strikes than Lineker 101-91. He avoided a lot of blows, but Lineker did play the aggressor with Dodson running around the octagon a lot. That could have been the reason for his loss in Portland, but Dodson believes he won this one and compares it to a teammate of his.

“I was like what the hell are you all thinking? I didn’t know you can make him miss so many times and still being on the losing end. I did the whole Carlos Condit Robbie Lawler thing and sure enough they gave it to Robbie again”, said Dodson.

His record is now 18-8 professionally and don’t expect Dodson to be out of the octagon long, as this loss does come from the 3rd ranked fighter in the UFC Bantamweight Division. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
