Convicted robber out on probation now facing more serious charges

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A convicted armed robber out on probation is now facing new, more serious charges.

According to a criminal complaint, Christopher Brown attempted to rape a woman in a ditch off of 4th north of Montano. A deputy was able to stop him after people called 911.

In court Sunday morning, the judge heard about Brown’s long criminal past.

Turns out Brown was already on probation for an armed robbery conviction. The judge kept his bond at $45,000 cash or surety. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
