A cold front is eyeing New Mexico for Monday and that is going to bring back wind, rain and cooler temperatures. Showers will start to move in from the west after midnight tonight. Albuquerque will have a shot at rain waking up early on Monday morning between 6-8am. This could bring Balloon Fiesta to a halt for Monday morning, but keep checking in with KRQE for more weather updates throughout this evening and first thing on Monday morning. The cold front will also bring strong wind to northern New Mexico on Monday afternoon. Areas around the Northern Mountains and Northeast could experience wind gusts as high as 50 mph. The front will move through the region by late Monday night. In its wake, much cooler temperatures for the middle of the week. Another cold front could impact eastern New Mexico Thursday into Friday. This second, late week cold front could bring another round of wind and rain to end the week.
