KRQE Cares shoe drive sends over 500 kids home with new shoes

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – More than 500 kids are sporting new shoes Friday, thanks to generous donors.

KRQE partnered up with the Assistance League of Albuquerque for the “KRQE Cares” shoe drive at the Janet Kahn School of Integrated Arts Friday.

News 13’s own Dean Staley and Kristen Currie were there to help fit kids in need with new shoes and socks made possible by donors at Payless Shoe Stores and during last month’s KRQE phone drive.

Five more events are planned at different schools throughout the school year.
