FRIDAY: All eyes will be on an incoming cold front that looks to bring some big time changes to our weekend forecast. This front will push southeast across the state through the day, spilling into the Eastern Plains tonight. Expect temperatures to top out in the 60s, 70s and 80s to finish the week. Spotty to scattered showers and storms will develop along the front – pushing west to east. Breezy to windy conditions will also be something to watch for.
–FREEZE WATCH in effect for portions of the San Juan Basin Friday night into Saturday morning – overnight lows are expect to drop to or even just below freezing.
–WIND ADVISORY in effect for northeast and east-central NM beginning 10AM thorugh 7PM Friday – sustained speeds 25-35mph / gusts ~50mph.
SATURDAY: Temperatures will be even cooler as we kick off the weekend – expect high temperatures to keep to the mid- to upper 70s across the Rio Grande Valley. More sunshine and drier conditions are expected for most, however, there is potential for a few spot storms to initiate over the far south/southeast.
