American Cancer Society gears up for annual breast cancer walk


ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The leaders in helping to end the fight against breast cancer are asking the community to put on their walking shoes.

The American Cancer Society is gearing up for their annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk. 

Breast Cancer is the most common cancer diagnosed and the second causing cancer death in women in the United States.

Breast Cancer Survivor, Carmel Sanchez-Busby, and Mission Delivery Program Manager, Shirelle Besse, joined KRQE’s This Morning team to discuss the walk. Watch above.

The 17th Annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk is set to begin Saturday, October 22 at Cottonwood Mall.

Registration begins at 7:30am and the walk starts at 8 a.m.
