Kristen’s Thursday Morning Forecast

Big time cool down heading into the weekend...

THURSDAY: A mostly quiet start to the day with only a few spot showers moving over the Northern Mountains. More showers and storms are expected to develop this afternoon. Most favorable coverage will be found across central NM with more spot storms expected over western and northeast NM. Afternoon temperatures will be at or just above average – majority of us topping out in the 60s, 70s and 80s (slightly warmer – 90s – expected near the southern stateline). Breezy to windy conditions are expected by late day.

FRIDAY: More spotty storms are possible within the western 2/3rds of the state – isolated coverage within the Plains. We’ll finish the week with a strong Pacific cold front that will bring a significant cool down from west to east. Expect temperatures to drop 5°-10° – more 60s and 70s (and less 80s and 90s) expected. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
