Rio Rancho Police investigating shooting


RIO RANCHO, N.M. (KRQE) – Rio Rancho police are investigating a shooting that took place Tuesday afternoon.

Police say that they were dispatched to the 900 block of Tiffin Meadows at about 4:45 p.m. regarding a male with a gunshot wound. The male was airlifted to UNMH and is currently listed in critical condition. Police did not have any details on the shooting injury.

A police spokesman said they had one male detained that they believe was involved in the shooting. However, that man has since been released.

Police also said that they won’t be charging anyone just yet.
