John’s Tuesday Afternoon Forecast

An active week...

forecast

The rest of the work week will be more active as we start to pull tropical moisture into the state. Tropical Storm Paine continues to spin off the coast of Baja California. Meanwhile, a storm system will start moving east out of southern California. This will help draw moisture off of Paine into the state. Expect a few showers across the east on Tuesday, and even more showers west and central Wednesday as the moisture plume becomes more prominent. The storm system moving out of southern California will eventually fall apart Thursday as it starts to cross New Mexico.

We get a break from the active weather Friday and Saturday, but another storm system will dive out of the Pacific Northwest on Sunday. This will give us another shot at showers and storms for the second half of the weekend. This storm system will also deliver sharply cooler temperatures for Sunday and the start of next week. Afternoon highs will drop by 10° – 20° between Friday and Sunday.
