Fall is arguably one of the best times to be in New Mexico. As the temperatures drop and the colors turn vibrant with the season, New Mexico Magazine has your go-to list for fun and relaxation in the Land of Enchantment.

Kate Nelson, Managing Editor of New Mexico Magazine joined New Mexico Living to talk about what’s happening at the magazine.

“[Vermejo Park Ranch] The largest privately owned piece of land in the United States. 920 square miles of pristine wilderness up in the northern part of New Mexico, about an hour west of Raton. And the grand lodge, the ‘casa grande’ that was built at the turn of the last century is something that you would expect to see on the east coast or in Europe. It’s opulent, it’s beautiful.

“Besides this, Ted Turner has done so much environmental protection on the property. It’s now open to guests – who can afford the tab – and if you can, what a wonderful weekend that would be,” says Nelson of the cover story gracing the most recent edition of New Mexico Magazine.

For the more budget-conscious, New Mexico Magazine also features an article about five bed-and-breakfast getaways.

Bouldering is showcased as well – which is a sport similar to climbing but is described as being a bit more extreme.
