John’s Monday Afternoon Forecast

More storms this week...

forecast

The workweek starts with plenty of sunshine and warm to even hot temperatures across the state. Afternoon highs will be anywhere from 5° – 15° above average. Changes start to move in Tuesday. Showers and storms will develop across the western third of the state and advance into central sections late Tuesday. The moisture will continue to ramp up, giving more of the state an opportunity for rain Wednesday and Thursday as a storm system passes north and west of the state.

Eventually cooler air will work in late this week and into next week. Skies will clear for the first half of the weekend, but showers and storms will likely return for Sunday afternoon. Long range models have another storm system passing to our north next week. In its wake, we could see a stiff northerly flow that will bring much cooler air in for the start of Balloon Fiesta.
