Third suspect in Hobby Lobby carjacking appears in court

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE)– Their ruse took advantage of a woman’s kindness outside a local Hobby Lobby and now all the culprits have been caught.

The third suspect, Tyler Shumake, appeared in court Sunday after being jailed on robbery charges.

Shumake, Mark Chacon and Danielle Tellez asked the victim to jump-start their vehicle at the Hobby Lobby on Juan Tabo in early September.

The trio of crooks ended up stealing her car, but Haldane jumped in and fought back hard, breaking her hip, three ribs and more.

All three suspects remain jailed. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
