Video released in Albuquerque bus mishap

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) –  KRQE News 13 reported earlier this week about the city of Albuquerque spending tax dollars to settle what some might call “odd lawsuits.”

Now, KRQE News 13 has obtained video of one of them, a bus mishap. Watch above.

The video shows a woman on a motorized scooter almost falling over as she boards bus first. An onlooker helps her get on the bus.

Then while the driver stands near her, a man tries to get on, also on a motorized scooter and falls. He appears to be alright, gets up, walks around and then wheels back up onto the bus, this time with help from a couple of witnesses.

That man sued the city for pain and suffering, claiming the ramp wasn’t safe, and that it was operated in a dangerous manner. The city cut him a check for $28,000. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
