ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Ten days after Apple announced the new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, the phone now officially hits stores in the U.S. Friday morning.

Apple is banking on some of its new features to attract more buyers, like making them water resistant, adding a beefed up camera and new headphones. Those headphones will now be wireless, but will cost extra, a feature they’ve gotten criticism over.

Buyers can still plug in headphones through the lightening port which will come with the new phone, but that could make charging your phone and keeping your buds connected difficult.

The company says its telling its customers the phones will be in short supply. Walk-in customers won’t be able to get the iPhone 7 Plus, Apple says it won’t hit shops until November.

Not all hope is lost, non-Apple retailers like Best Buy may still have them in stock, but expect long lines there too.

Apple is also releasing their new watch Friday, called the “Series 2.” provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
