Kristen’s Thursday Morning Forecast

Slow drying trend to take over late week...

THURSDAY: An active morning for those near the eastern stateline as strong storms continue to drop heavy rain and frequent lightning on their trek east. More of the same is expected this afternoon with storm chances favoring south-central and eastern NM. There is potential for storms to turn severe – threats: hail, gusty winds, frequent lightning, heavy rain and isolated tornadoes. Afternoon temperatures will climb back into the 60s, 70s and 80s – warmer for those east of the Central Mountains.

FRIDAY: Drier air will continue to work in from the west leaving most of us across the western 2/3rds of the state with beautiful weather to finish the work week. The exception would be the Eastern Plains where storms will likely redevelop late day. High temperatures will be at to just below average. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
