Storms will continue to fire across eastern New Mexico Thursday afternoon. A few will likely be on the strong to severe side. The Gila will also pick up a few more storms, some of which could drift into the Rio Grande Valley through the afternoon and evening.
A back door cold front will help keep the east in decent storm coverage Friday, while the west and central parts of the state dry out. Eventually the east will largely dry out for the weekend as well.
Another trough will setup west of New Mexico. This one will be deeper than the one we saw this week. This means a better moisture draw and more showers and storms across the state, especially moving into the middle of next week.
