Gipson’s troubles are more than a concussion

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Lobos senior Teriyon Gipson has had a past mistake come back to haunt him. University of New Mexico Head Coach Bob Davie was made aware Tuesday of a misdemeanor arrest for gun possession and marijuana involving his top running back in Dallas, Texas in January.

Gipson failed to notify Head Coach Bob Davie about the arrest. Davie said there will be some sort of discipline for Gipson for the off the field issue.

He would not say what the punishment would be and said it would be something done in house. Gipson was already not available for the Lobos game at Rutgers this Saturday due to a concussion suffered in a loss to New Mexico State last weekend. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
