ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – One motivated Central New Mexico Community College or University of New Mexico student could win $5,000, creating an app.

The two schools are holding a contest.

Students are asked to use coding skills and creativity to design an app that provides a valuable service to students and the community.

“We had some apps that kind of helped students navigate through the enrollment process,” said John Mierzwa with CNM Deep Dive Coding.

Second place winner walks away with $2,500 and third with $1,000. A special “Women in Technology” $1,000 prize is also offered.

Some rules to note: Students must be enrolled in CNM or UNM or have been enrolled and completed their coursework between August 1 and December 31, 2016.
