Local animal rescues celebrate National Adoption Weekend

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Local New Mexico rescues can be found under one tent to celebrate National Adoption Weekend.

The City of Albuquerque Animal Welfare Department and The Watermelon Mountain Ranch are teaming up with PetSmart Stores and PetSmart Charities for three consecutive days to showcase a wide variety of adoptable pets.

The Animal Welfare Departments Marketing Manager, Desiree Cawley, along with Watermelon Mountain Ranch Marketing Manager, Sara Garrigan, stopped by the KRQE This Morning show to discuss the big event. Watch above.

The large tent can be found at the PetSmart store located in the parking lot at 10248 Coors Bypass NW on Friday, September 16 through Sunday, September 18. On Friday, adoptions will be available from 12 p.m. until 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday show up as early as 10 a.m.
