Bregman is USA Today Minor League Player of the Year

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Houston Astros third baseman Alex Bregman is the USA Today Minor League Player of the Year.

Bregman put together his body of work to win the award before getting the big call up to the Astros. He started the season in double A Corpus Christi where he feasted on Texas League pitching.

The former LSU and Albuquerque Academy star had 14 homers and 46 RBI in 62 games with the Hooks. He had 6 homers and 15 RBI in only 18 games with triple A Fresno while batting .333.

As of Tuesday morning, Bregman was batting .266 with the Astros with 7 homers and 26 RBI.
