Third suspect in Victoria Martens murder makes first court appearance

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Jessica Kelley, the third suspect in the murder of 10-year-old Victoria Martens, made her first appearance in court Saturday.

Kelley stood silent as Judge Schultz read the list of charges against her, among them child abuse resulting in death, as well as kidnapping. Judge Schultz called the case one of the worst he had seen.

Kelley was booked into the Metropolitan Detention Center Friday after treatment at the hospital for a broken leg from jumping from a balcony in an attempt to elude police.

Kelley’s bond was set at $1 million cash only.
