New Mexico shops giving back to fallen officer

LAS CRUCES, N.M. (KRQE) There has been an outpouring of support for Officer Jose Chavez’ family.

House of Grafix in Las Cruces has sold hundreds of decals with the Hatch police shield to raise money to help Officer Chavez’ family.

C.W. Ward owns the shop.

“I was able to think of a way to raise funds that was easy. Hopeful a lot of people could do it,” said Ward.

Ward says all money raised will go to the family. They have raised $1,650 so far.

Also in Las Cruces, a local hunting club showed its support, selling raffle tickets to win an AR15 rifle.  So far, the club has raised nearly $4,000. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
