Fishbein and the Lobos start with UNLV exhibition game

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Jeremy Fishbein and his University of New Mexico Men’s soccer team got a chance to face an opponent for the first time in the 2016 season Monday night.

The Lobos faced off against UNLV in an exhibition game at the UNM Soccer Complex. Nico Hansen got the scoring started early in the first half by firing a shot past the UNLV goalie in the 11th minute. Hansen was at it again in the 19th minute, scoring a second goal for the Lobos. The Lobos added a third goal to win 3-0.

The Lobos had 19 shots in regulation, eight on goal. UNLV only had two shots on goal and only 8 overall shots. The Lobos will play the second of three exhibition games Thursday morning when they host Ft. Lewis College. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
