BERNALILLO COUNTY, N.M. (KRQE) – A Bernalillo County K9 has a lot to be proud of after a major drug bust.

Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Deputies say they pulled a car over for a traffic violation on I-40 near Atrisco Vista Tuesday morning. That’s when K9 “Terry” alerted his handler to something inside.

Turns out it was more than 200 pounds of pot in there.

The driver was arrested.

Deputies say this isn’t Terry’s first big bust.

“He works very hard with his handler and is always getting narcotics off the streets,” said Deputy Felicia Romero.

During another traffic stop in March, “Terry” sniffed out 14-pounds of marijuana along with some cocaine.
