ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Republican vice presidential candidate Mike Pence is scheduled to make two campaign stops in New Mexico on Tuesday.

According to Donald Trump’s campaign website, the Indiana governor has a town hall event scheduled in Albuquerque Tuesday afternoon at 3:30 pm at the Sandia Ballroom. He’s then set to travel to Roswell for another rally at the New Mexico Military Institute at 8:00 p.m.

It’s the first event for the GOP presidential ticket since May, when a Trump rally at the Albuquerque Convention Center was followed by violent protests.

State Democrats have already announced a Monday news conference to speak out against Pence’s visit. While Bill Clinton visited the state in May, neither Hillary Clinton nor her running mate Tim Kaine have held public rallies in the state this election cycle. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
