Local 10 year old Chef wins trip to DC

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A New Mexico resident traveled to the White House after winning the First Lady’s Healthy Lunchtime Challenge.

The challenge was to create a healthy, affordable and tasty lunch recipe. McLean Knight, 10, was New Mexico’s winner and was invited to the White House for the 2016 Kids’ State Dinner.

Blue Apron, the nation’s leading fresh ingredient and recipe delivery service, selected Knight’s recipe, Green Chile Chicken Roll with Lime Jicama Fries. The recipe was also sent to Blue Apron Family Plan customers across the country.

Knight joined KRQE’s This Morning team to make his award winning dish. Watch above.
