Matt Baron, Coach and Co-Owner of Black Box Fitness: Black Box Fitness’ Cross Fit Class program is highly diverse. Our athletes learn to run, they learn how to row, they learn how to weight-lift properly.
Our classes are formatted so that there is a technique session every time you come into Black Box, and also a strength session to help you improve over time. Our classes have a conditioning portion where you get a great workout that includes highly diversified elements such as basic gymnastics, other forms of weight-lifting.
Those movements are really important because as we get older, we lose the functionality of being able to sit down and stand up and pick things up, so it’s important to keep our strength as high as possible for as long as possible.
When an athlete first comes in, they go through private training to help them learn, before they go into the classes. When they actually get into our classes, the group instructors will go through the warm-up, technique session, and then the strength – which by then, the athlete should know exactly what they are doing.
The conditioning portions are just going to be intense, fun and doable for all levels. Our program is accessible for young adults through senior citizens. We can modify weights, we can modify movements, we can modify everything so everyone can get a great workout here.
