Chief Gorden Eden meets with the public

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Tuesday night was “National Night Out,” and many came out to meet and mingle with police.

Officers made visits to different community centers and parks in the city to enjoy a cookout with residents. Police say each year, they gain more insight into the needs and concerns of the community.

“It’s an opportunity for us to interact with our community, in a more favorable environment, rather than as a victim of a crime,” said Chief Gorden Eden.

The event was the 33rd National Night Out.

Police Chief Eden says he’s now attended three of them in Albuquerque.
