Saga Tuitele hired on at UNM

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE)- It has been in the works to hire Cal Poly Offensive Coordinator, Saga Tuitele, at UNM, and according to the Cal Poly Football website Saturday afternoon he has resigned and is headed to UNM. Tuitele spend six years at Cal Poly and will now replace Jason Lenzmeier, who resigned earlier this month.

He will take over the Offensive Line Coaching gig as well as the Running Coordinator for the Lobos. It should be an easy transition for Tuitele, as he ran the triple option while coaching at Cal Poly, and even ranked as one of the FCS best in his years at the university.

“He’s going to have 25 or 30 years of triple option experience at the best schools in the country,” Walsh said of Tuitele’s expected replacement.
