John’s Wednesday Afternoon Forecast

More excessive heat...

John Smith Weather

It will be yet another hot afternoon across New Mexico. Temps will soar well into the triple digits across the south and east, while Albuquerque will warm to near 100°. The heat will continue through at least the upcoming weekend. A cold front will nudge into the northeast, allow for spot storms there Thursday and Friday.

Long range models still suggest the monsoon flow setting up by the middle of next week. The monsoon will be weak to start, but if the projections are correct, we could end the month with decent rounds of showers and storms. When talking about a forecast more than two weeks out, it’s important to take it with a grain of salt. But at least the long term outlooks are encouraging.
