RIO RANCHO, N.M. (KRQE) – The annual Pork and Brew Fest continues Monday in Rio Rancho.
All weekend people have been sampling some of the best barbecue and beer. The 13th Annual Pork and Brew Barbecue State Championship was underway.
Aside from the delicious food available for purchase, there’s also a contest with winners advancing to American Royal in Kansas, the Jack Daniel’s World Championship in Lynchburg and the World Food Championship in Florida.
One vendor says they’ve sold so much meat, it adds up to about 55 pigs a day.
“Last night we cooked four cases of pork, three cases of brisket and wee put 10 cases of ribs on this morning which is the equivalent to 110 slabs of ribs today,” said vendor Bill Milroy.
They also have live music. Monday Toby McBrooks and Bosque Blues will take the stage.
