Get ready for the heat to return to New Mexico as we head into the 4th of July!   Spot showers across northern New Mexico tonight will becoming to an and drier air will be on the increase for Sunday afternoon.   There will only be a chance for a few storms across extreme northern New Mexico and southern Colorado along a cold front that will set up across northeastern New Mexico.   Areas in central and southern New Mexico will have a slight chance for a pop-up showers and storms on Sunday afternoon.

An area of high pressure will build back over the region in the coming days.   This will continue to eliminate the moisture and temperatures return to the 90s and triple digits for most of central and southern New Mexico.
