ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A local non-profit is helping a local veteran get back on his feet with a new car.

“Heroes Walk Among Us” is an organization that helps struggling veterans get jobs and put their lives back together. They provide them with housing, education, work and transportation.

When the non-profit heard a U.S. Navy veteran needed a new car, they gave him a Jeep donated by a member of the organization.

“Words can’t explain how grateful I am and how much they’ve helped me through this time,” said veteran Jeff France.

The organization is 100 percent volunteer. All donations are distributed to local veterans.
