John’s Friday Evening Forecast

Drier and hotter by the 4th...

Showers and storms will continue through the overnight as a disturbance works its way through the state. Showers will start to end in the metro early on Saturday. The overall trend for the holiday weekend will be drying conditions and warming temps. The high terrain will be favored for showers and storms Saturday afternoon, while other locations will have the chance at only a spot storm.

A back door cold front will sag into the northeast Sunday, allowing for a slightly better shot at rain across the northeast and Northern Mountains. As high pressure continues to slide over the state on Monday, most areas will see plenty of sunshine and hot temps for the 4th of July holiday.

Much of next week stays dry and hot. The high will slide back to the east late next week, reopening the moisture door leading into next weekend.
