Albuquerque police to crack down on drunk driving during holiday weekend

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Albuquerque police are going to crack down on drunk driving this weekend. Both police and firefighters are reminding citizens to be responsible.

According to the National Highway traffic administration, the 4th of July is one of the deadliest holiday weekends.  With record traffic on the roads, police say drive sober or get pulled over.

The mayor is suggesting citizens to get a designated driver, call a cab or an Uber, if you’ve been drinking. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
