AAA anticipates largest 4th of July travel weekend on record

Uptown Albuquerque

(KRQE) – If you’re driving or flying this 4th of July, expect millions of others to join you — 43 million to be exact.

AAA projects this weekend to be the highest Fourth of July travel volume on record.

The holiday travel period begins Thursday and goes through Monday.

AAA says 84 percent of holiday travelers, which is more than 36 million people, will drive to their Independence Day destinations.

They also say 3.3 million Americans will fly.
