State Police: Armed suspect shot, killed on Laguna Pueblo

LAGUNA PUEBLO, N.M. (KRQE) – Police are investigating an officer-involved shooting on Laguna Pueblo.

It happened a little after noon Monday in a remote area about a mile and a half north of I-40.

According to State Police, officers were called in to help Laguna Tribal Police with an armed suspect that fled from authorities. NMSP located the individual and at some point, shots were fired.

At this time information about the incident is limited but officials tell KRQE News 13 that State Police were involved in the shooting.

The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene.

NMSP says the incident is currently under investigation.
