A short drying trend will take hold across central and eastern New Mexico Monday afternoon through Tuesday. Expect fewer storms and more sunshine and these areas for the start of the week. Meanwhile, storms will develop across the north and west, especially over the higher terrain, Monday afternoon. Drier air continues to work into the west Tuesday, limiting storms to the Northern Mountains.
Moisture returns to the western half of the state Wednesday, and pushes into the east by Thursday. This will allow for more widespread showers and storms as the workweek closes.
