ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The Houston Astros top prospect is ready to inch closer to making it to the show.

Alex Bregman will be promoted from double A Corpus Christi to triple A Fresno just as soon as he finishes playing in the Texas League All Star game Tuesday.

The Former LSU and Albuquerque Academy infielder earned his call up the old fashioned way, through good hard work. Bregman feasted on Texas League pitching in the first half of the season, hitting 14 home runs with 16 doubles and 45 RBIs through 61 games. Bregman will put some of that power on display Tuesday at Hammons Field in Springfield, Missouri.

He is scheduled to participate in the home run derby.
