SANTA FE, N.M. (KRQE) – Fire officials declared the McClure Fire 100 percent contained Saturday.
In a statement sent out Sunday, officials said that the fire was declared officially contained at approximately 3 p.m. on Saturday.
All hotshot crews and aircraft that were working the fire have been released, but staff from the Espanola Ranger District are monitoring the fire.
The fire remained small but got a lot of attention because of it’s location. It was in the Santa Fe watershed, which supplies water to the city of Santa Fe.
The McClure Fire was located approximately 3 miles northeast of McClure Reservoir and two miles from Hyde State Park, within the Pecos Wilderness portion of the Watershed. It covered 7.6 acres.
