CORRALES, N.M. (KRQE) – A Corrales man is facing charges for allegedly stealing more than $133,000 from a local health care facility. It’s a scheme he has apparently pulled off before.
Gilbert Baca, 41, is accused of forging documents and then making money transfers from the business accounts into his personal accounts.
The owners realized the money was missing when they were preparing the business taxes for 2015.
According to the criminal complaint, the company’s office manager was also in on the scheme.
The health care center closed its doors back in March.
Baca was in court Wednesday to face charges of forgery, fraud, racketeering, and embezzlement.
Baca has already served time and is currently on probation in a similar scheme. He stole $60,000 from a security company back in 2009.
