ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE)- The Albuquerque Downs Racetrack has totally revamped their facilities. They have renovated the entire Grandstand and added a lot to make the racing experience even better.
“This is the first year that we have ran June, July, August, September. We think those are prime race dates so we are excited about that. We have basically built a new grandstand in 9 months. Every restaurant area, every beverage area, the Jockey Club and Turf Club has been remodeled, the first floor has been remodeled. So, it’s basically a new grandstand,” said President of Racing at the Downs Don Cook.
Live racing will begin Saturday June 2 and will run through Sunday September 25th. They of course have made the huge renovations to the Grandstand, but also have added a new 14 by 48 foot Jumbo Tron. There are more options for food, drinks, and more places to sit.
