Lobo baseball’s Andrew Pratt named freshman All American

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The University of New Mexico has another All American baseball player. Freshman catcher Andrew Pratt has been named a Louisville Slugger Freshman All American by Collegiate Baseball News.

Pratt helped the Lobos snag a Mountain West Tournament Championship and trip to the NCAA Lubbock Regional behind a .326 batting average and .565 slugging percentage in over 92 at bats.

The former La Cueva high star saw his bat really heat up late in the season. He had five homers in his last 10 starts. Pratt is the ninth Lobo, and third catcher, to earn the honor in 9 seasons under Ray Birmingham.
