Stretch of Albuquerque road gets revamped

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The entire stretch of Zuni from Jefferson to Central is getting revamped to make it safer for pedestrians and cyclists.

The plan cuts traffic lanes east of San Mateo down from four to two, to control speeding, and adds a center turn lane.

West of San Mateo it, Zuni remains four lanes, but adds new crosswalks for students at highland high.

Construction starts this week, and should finish in July. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
