Kristen’s Monday Morning Forecast

MONDAY: A quiet start to the day with only a few pockets of light rain found over the Southeast Plains left over from last night’s storms. The majority of us will begin the new week with plenty of sunshine and warm temperatures. Expect high temperatures to top out in the 80s and 90s across northern and central NM while portions of southern NM top out in the 90s to low 100s! Spot mountain storms will fire over the higher terrain of northern and central NM by late day with the possibility of some storms turning strong to severe. Keep in mind – these storms will likely roll off into surrounding lower elevations (be sure to head indoors if you hear thunder in your area).

TUESDAY: The heat continues with another round of 80s, 90s and low 100s to stretch across the state. Mostly sunny conditions can be expected statewide with only a handful of spot storms over the high country.

WEDNESDAY: Mostly sunny and HOT as we enter midweek. Afternoon temperatures will top out in the 80s and 90s in most areas with some within the southeast corner facing triple digits! Spot mountain storms will continue to favor the Northern Mountains, although, coverage will be isolated. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
