Expect fewer showers and storms this afternoon as a ridge of high pressure works in. Storms will be limited to the northern high terrain, but a few could drift into the northeast this evening. With the drier air comes hotter temps. Highs will heat to the 90s in the metro, while some areas in the south will push 100°.
The heat will continue throughout most of the week with high pressure in firm control. The high will break down toward the end of the week, allowing for better chances at showers and slightly cooler temps.
